Pelvic Pain in Perimenopause: When Your Body Says “Stop Giving”
Pelvic pain, cramping, heavy periods, and other reproductive issues are common in perimenopause. And doctors will treat these symptoms with birth control, pain medication, or eventually hysterectomy.
But pelvic pain is also a Sacral Chakra issue.
The Sacral Chakra is located in your pelvis. It governs your womb, your ovaries, and your creative and sexual organs. When this chakra is blocked or out of balance, your body expresses that through pain, tension, and dysfunction in the very organs that this chakra governs.
The Sacral Chakra holds the energy of giving and receiving. So for many women, perimenopause is the time when your body finally says I have given enough. I cannot give anymore. I need to receive.
But if you have spent decades in a pattern of giving without receiving, if you have been the one who nurtures everyone else, if you have been pouring from an empty cup, your Sacral Chakra will rebel. And it will express that rebellion through your pelvis.
I had horrible cramping and pelvic pain during perimenopause because I suppressed all my true needs early in my life. I ended up with 7 pounds of fibroid tumors and after 20 years of battling, it ended with a hysterectomy.
I was angry about it. I felt like my body and God were punishing me. But when I started doing Sacral Chakra work, when I started examining where I was giving too much and receiving too little, my attitude started to shift. God was not punishing me. My body was not punishing me. My body was protecting me… And God was calling me to surrender. But that is a different post.
Pelvic pain is real and it needs medical attention. But it also needs energetic attention because sometimes the pain is not just physical. It is your body saying to stop giving so much. Start receiving. Start honoring your own needs.
When you balance your Sacral Chakra and you learn to receive as much as you give, your pelvis relaxes.
