Digestive Issues in Perimenopause: It’s Not Just Your Gut—It’s Your Personal Power
Digestive issues are incredibly common in perimenopause. Bloating, constipation, nausea, acid reflux, food sensitivities that never existed before. Doctors will tell you it is hormones affecting your gut. That’s true… AND it’s also your Solar Plexus Chakra.
The Solar Plexus is located in your upper abdomen, right where your digestive organs are. It governs personal power, identity, confidence, and willpower. When this chakra is out of balance, your digestion suffers.
Perimenopause is a time when your identity is dissolving. The roles you played, the person you thought you were, the life you built are all changing. And your Solar Plexus, which governs your sense of self, is struggling to process that change. Your body expresses that struggle through your digestion.
I had terrible digestive issues during perimenopause. I was bloated all the time. I could not eat foods I had eaten my whole life without feeling sick and getting inflamed. At first, I thought there was something wrong with my gut. But when I started doing Solar Plexus work, when I started asking what I was having trouble digesting emotionally and spiritually, everything shifted.
Your body digests food. But your Solar Plexus digests your life. It processes your experiences, your identity, your sense of who you are. When you are going through massive identity shifts and you have not processed them, your Solar Plexus gets backed up... And so does your digestion.
Digestive issues might need medical attention. But for sure they need Solar Plexus work. You need to ask yourself what you are having trouble digesting in your life. What are you trying to stomach that you should not be stomaching anymore?
What are you tolerating?
When your Solar Plexus is balanced, your digestion improves, because you stop trying to digest things that were never yours to digest.
